14 Sep 2021 WindEurope Underlined the Studies Carried Out in Türkiye and İzmir in Wind Energy
While reaching 10,000 MW wind energy installed power in Türkiye made an impact on an international scale, it’s also underlined by WindEurope which is the largest and most powerful wind energy network in Europe.
The success achieved with the energy and industrial investments made in Türkiye and the support of all institutions, organizations, and private companies that contribute to the development of the wind energy sector, was announced by WindEurope of which our Agency is a member.
The presence of international equipment manufacturers operating in İzmir, known as the “Wind Energy Capital of Türkiye”, and the activities of the İzmir Development Agency were also emphasized in the announcement.
With the “İzmir Offshore Wind Energy Roadmap” study prepared by our Agency, it was emphasized that Türkiye has approximately 70,000 MW of offshore wind energy potential and how Türkiye is suitable not only for onshore applications but also for offshore applications and equipment production. Also what needs to be done on the scale of İzmir is determined to evaluate this potential.
With this vision, İzmir welcomes new investments in the wind energy sector.
