21 Feb 2024 İzmir Among Europe’s Cities of the Future in Terms of Direct Foreign Investment
fDi Intelligence, the world’s leading research institution on Foreign Direct Investments, has identified İzmir as one of the most attractive future investment locations in Europe.
In the “European Cities and Regions of the Future 2024” report published by fDi Intelligence, Izmir ranked among the top 10 major cities and regions in Europe in the categories of Foreign Direct Investment Strategy and Cost Effectiveness. Izmir’s focus on clean energy-clean technologies and software-information technologies sectors in its foreign direct investment strategy has placed it among the top 10 cities with the best Foreign Direct Investment Strategy. In the “Cost Effectiveness” category, İzmir ranked highly among large regions.
These research findings indicate that İzmir is among the cities that offer the most favorable investment environment in Europe in the coming period and that this can be done at the most reasonable cost. The Investment Support Office within the İzmir Development Agency, under the corporate identity “Invest in İzmir,” promotes İzmir’s investment environment and provides guidance to investors interested in investing in Izmir. It aims to attract high-tech and high-value-added investments to İzmir by evaluating its multi-sectoral strong economic structure and advanced investment infrastructure.
