İzmir Resource Efficiency Center Begins Operations

The İzmir Resource Efficiency Center, which aims to increase İzmir’s sustainable production capacity, began operations with an opening ceremony held at the İzmir Economics Congress Building.

The meeting, held under the auspices of the İzmir Governor’s Office, was attended by public institutions, industry representatives, academics, and non-governmental organizations. In his opening speech, İzmir Governor Dr. Süleyman ELBAN highlighted the contributions the center will make to both İzmir and the country’s industry. The meeting continued with a presentation by Dr. Mehmet YAVUZ, Secretary General of the İzmir Development Agency, on the Izmir Resource Efficiency Center, and concluded with the introduction of the “Ecocycle” platform, designed to facilitate information sharing among businesses, convert waste into a valuable resource, and explore opportunities for cooperation.

The İzmir Resource Efficiency Center will provide technical support, training, and consulting services to businesses operating in the industrial and agricultural sectors in the areas of green transformation, clean energy, carbon management, and digital transformation. These services will enable companies to manage their transformation processes with a holistic approach.
