20 Feb 2025 İzmir Regional Plan Introduced at a Meeting Held at İzmir Economics Congress Center
İzmir Regional Plan (2024-2028) Promotion Meeting was held at İzmir Economics Congress Center with the presence of Dr. Süleyman ELBAN, Governor of İzmir and with the participation of representatives from all public institutions and organizations, Metropolitan Municipality and district municipalities, universities, professional chambers, organized industrial zones and relevant non-governmental organizations in İzmir.
The İzmir Regional Plan, prepared with the participation of all relevant institutions and organizations in İzmir under the coordination of İzmir Development Agency, was approved by the Presidential Decree No. 9253 dated 16 December 2024 and entered into force after being published in the Official Gazette dated 17 December 2024.
The İzmir Regional Plan, which sets out İzmir’s medium-term development priorities in line with the vision of “A Resilient and Vibrant Port City Leading Green Transformation and Blue Growth”, prioritizes the green transformation of the agricultural and industrial production infrastructure in İzmir, the development of the blue economy in our city as a port city, and the adaptation of our city to the wave of transformation and change experienced worldwide at the level of institutions and individuals.
The opening speech of the introductory meeting was delivered by Dr. Süleyman ELBAN, Governor of İzmir. The meeting continued with a presentation on the regional plan by Dr. Mehmet YAVUZ, Secretary General of İzmir Development Agency, and ended with panel sessions where the results of the research and analysis carried out within the scope of the regional plan preparations were shared.
The 12th Regional Plan for İzmir, which links İzmir with the policy documents prepared at the central level, especially the 12th Development Plan, sets out Izmir’s five-year development goals and priorities, provides guidance for all institutions of the city, and provides a framework for spatial plans in line with development goals, can be accessed at www.planizmir.com.
